Position Highlights: The University of Arizona's Department of Linguistics invites applications for the Adjunct Lecturer position to teach LING/AIS 104A, the first semester of the Navajo language course (Dine Bizaad). Students will develop speaking, listening, reading, and writing skills in Navajo. The department provides graduate and undergraduate programs in linguistics, human language technology, and Native American linguistics.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Teach LING/AIS 104A first-semester university level Dine Bizaad courses, including practice in speaking, listening, reading, and writing.
- Design instructional materials and develop an appropriate teaching methodology for the class.
Minimum Qualifications
- Fluent speaker of Navajo; background in Linguistics or related area such as American Indian Studies.
- Master's degree.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous Dine Bizaad teaching experience.
- Ph.D. in a related field.
