Adjunct Instructor Of HVACDo Great Things! Durham Technical Community College is hiring an adjunct instructor of HVAC in the Industrial Systems Technology Program. The adjunct instructor will be preparing and delivering courses, teaching all assigned courses, upholding academic policies, and taking responsibility for classroom preparation and maintenance.

Completing mandatory training is also required.Please note this is a pool posting. This continuous posting for the 2026–2027 academic year may close at any time without notice. Applications are reviewed as needed, and candidates may be contacted as positions become available based on enrollment and program needs.Examples Of DutiesThe adjunct instructor is responsible for course preparation, delivery, grading, and records management.Teach all courses as assigned for the full duration of scheduled instructionEnforce academic policy and procedures, comply with institutional rules and regulations.Assume responsibility for off-site/classroom prep, including maintenance and clean-up, as all shop spaces are shared with other instructors.Must complete mandatory training.Minimum QualificationsMust meet one or more of the qualifications below:Mechanical LicenseAssociate degree from accredited institution in HVAC/AHR technology5 years of experience working in HVAC industry with CFC Universal certificationSupplemental InformationKnowledge of HVAC systems, how to trouble shoot, repair, and maintain themAbility to develop projects for students to learn HVAC systems in addition to share demonstrations to assist in their learning process.Evidence of strong interpersonal skills, organizational skillsExcellent problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.Ability to think creatively and put ideas into action.PC literatePersonal integrity, honesty, and the ability to maintain confidentiality.Understanding of the mission, goals, and objectives of a community college.Physical Demands:Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of this position.
