Job Focus:
Supports the College Mission and serves students, employers, and the college community by preparing and providing relevant technical instruction. Under general supervision, prepares relevant curriculum for competency-based instruction in an open-entry/open-exit or lecture environment for a relevant industry. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
- Demonstrated ability to communicate professionally and effectively, both orally and in writing

- Climb and work on power poles for extended periods of time to install, replace, and repair equipment, using required safety equipment, such as full-body harnesses.
- Conduct jobs in accordance with relevant codes and site-specific procedures while following applicable safety procedures.
- Operate mobile equipment.
- Hoist work-related equipment, material, and tools.
- Perform installation of all high voltage components
- Communicate with fellow employees in order to maintain satisfactory work conditions.
- Maintain regular and punctual attendance.
- Increase job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities, reading technical and regulation publications, as applicable.
- Perform any other duty or assignments as directed.
Responsibilities and Tasks:
- Encourage growth through industry connectivity
- Prepare relevant curriculum for competency-based instruction
- Develop and maintain current program and course outlines, goals and objectives
- Align class curriculum with industry standards
- Actively assist in accreditation processes
- Advise, evaluate, and record student progress
- Maintain knowledge of current trends and developments in respective industry
- Maintain certifications, licensures and accreditation standards for program area
- Assist with student recruitment, retention and job placement efforts
- Create, support, and maintain an active Occupational Advisory Committee and industry partnerships
- Ensure safety and security requirements are met in the training area
- Foster a productive learning and training environment
- Encourage and exemplify professionalism and good work habits
- Request and maintain supplies and equipment inventories
- Propose required budget and purchase requests; follow purchasing guidelines
- Prepare and maintain all required documentation and administrative reports
- Performs other related duties as assigned
Requirements
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma/GED or higher level.
- Certified Journeyman Lineman
- Four (4) years' experience as a Journeyman line worker
- Two (2) years' experience in power line construction
- Must have pole climbing experience
- Must successfully pass criminal background check
- Must possess a valid driver’s license
This position is on-call/as-needed, part-time/non-benefited.
