Adjunct Faculty, Recording Arts TechnologyThis is a part-time (adjunct) faculty position. Candidates will be interviewed and hired on an as-needed basis throughout the academic year.Department: Creative ArtsLocation: Metropolitan CampusReports To: Associate DeanRecruitment Type: External/InternalEmployment Type: Part-Time FacultyUnion Position: Non-UnionWork Schedule: To be determined based on business unit needs. Classes may be offered during the day, evening and/or weekend.

Please indicate your availability when applying for this position.Job Description:Teaches a variety of courses including Recording Theory, Digital Recording, Location Recording and Recording Labs and other department classes as assigned.Prepares and delivers learning activities in order to achieve course outcomesPrepares course materials such as syllabi, homework assignments and handoutsEvaluates and grades students' class work, laboratory work, assignments, papers, and examinationsMaintains and submits student attendance records, grades and other required documentation by specified deadlinesBe available to students for coachingPeriodic meetings with supervisors, division, or College, relative to teaching duties and training and developmentRequired Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in a Recording Arts related fieldMinimum of 2 years full-time audio industry experience (studio, live sound, music business)Demonstrated ability with current digital software applications for Windows and Macintosh Operating SystemsDemonstrated experience in current Pro Tools for Windows and MacintoshAbility to certify as licensed Avid Pro Tools InstructorDemonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (or equivalent)Advanced communication (verbal, written and interpersonal) and organizational skillsAppropriately responds to the needs of the communityPreferred Qualifications:Minimum of 5 years full-time audio industry experience (studio, live sound, music business).5 years college-level teaching experience in professional audio industry related subjects.5 years' experience in setup, construction, operation and maintenance, operation and maintenance of PC or Macintosh digital audio workstations.Teaching experienceIn order to be considered for an Adjunct faculty position, these additional documents are required to be uploaded: Unofficial transcript & license/certifications (Based on requirements outlined in posting).This is a Part-Time Faculty position, with the following set rate of pay: $942.00/Equated Semester Unit (ESU)During the application process, you may be required to attach a cover letter and/or resume.
