Adjunct Faculty, Medical Laboratory TechnologyThis is a part-time (adjunct) faculty position. Candidates will be interviewed and hired on an as-needed basis throughout the academic year.Job Description:Position requires preparation of lecture and laboratory presentations, curriculum review, and the practical instruction of laboratory skills in accordance with NAACLS standards. Subjects may include Phlebotomy, Hematology, Clinical Chemistry, Clinical Microbiology, Blood Bank/Serology, Molecular, Urinalysis/Body Fluids, Intro to MLT, Professional Development, Problem solving, Quality control, Lab Math.
Evaluation of practical laboratory skill performance. Serves as a liaison between College and community health care facilities. Serves on the Medical Laboratory Advisory Committee at the College.
Provides input for needs assessment, continued development, accreditation, and outcomes assessment for all Medical Laboratory programs.Prepares and delivers learning activities in order to achieve course outcomesPrepares course materials such as syllabi, homework assignments and handoutsEvaluates and grades students' class work, laboratory work, assignments, papers, and examinationsMaintains and submits student attendance records, grades and other required documentation by specified deadlinesBe available to students for coachingPeriodic meetings with supervisors, division, or College, relative to teaching duties and training and developmentRequired Qualifications:Bachelor's degree or higher and ASCP (or equivalent) certification as a medical laboratory generalist5 years of related recent (within the last 3 years) medical laboratory experienceDemonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (or equivalent)Advanced communication (verbal, written and interpersonal) and organizational skillsSensitivity to respond appropriately to the needs of the communityPreferred Qualifications:Teaching experienceIn order to be considered for an Adjunct faculty position, these additional documents are required to be uploaded: Unofficial transcript & license/certifications (Based on requirements outlined in posting).This is a Part-Time Faculty position, with the following set rate of pay: $951/Equated Semester Unit (ESU)During the application process, you may be required to attach a cover letter and/or resume.
