Electronics Technology Adjunct FacultyApplicants must be authorized to work in the United States. All employees are expected to maintain a permanent residence within the State of Utah as a condition of employment. New employees must provide a valid Utah residential address within 30 days of their start date.The Electronics Technology Adjunct Faculty will provide instruction, outcomes assessment and facilitate students' learning in the theory and practical application of Automation Technology. This includes but is not limited to the following: Pneumatics, Hydraulics, Industrial Mechanics, Electrical Systems, Motor Controls, PLCs, HMI's, Instrumentation, and Troubleshooting.The Adjunct Faculty will support learning in an in-person self-paced learning model using lecture/lab instruction and completing all required reports and documentation. This position will be assigned courses taught from 7am-1pm or from 3pm-9pm at the Westpointe Campus. Other schedules may be evaluated.

This is a pooled position. The department reviews applications as positions become available. In accordance with SLCC policy, adjunct positions are offered on a semester-by-semester basis with no guarantee of continued employment. Official transcripts are required for those who are offered employment within in 30 days of hire.Essential Duties & Responsibilities & Knowledge Skills & AbilitiesKnowledge:Maintain in-depth knowledge of industrial automation topicsProgramming PLCs, HMIs, and VFDsGood mechanical aptitudeUnderstanding of electrical circuits as they relate to automation.Teaching:Instruct students through self-paced labs, and ensure course learning outcomes are metCreates an effective, supportive learning environment for Salt Lake Technical College students.Evaluate student learning through labs and assignmentsMaintain student performance recordsExcellent interpersonal, communication and organizational skills.Ability to work without close supervision in a team with diverse membership. Ability to take initiative and resolve problems.Ability to work within a prescribed curriculum and departmental procedures while maintaining patience, creativity, and cooperative attitude.Excellent attendance record and attitude.Ability to communicate effectively with a broad range of people with a variety of abilities and backgrounds, to maintain good working relationships across the College.Ability to work with all groups from a variety of academic, socioeconomic, cultural, and ethnic backgrounds, and with community college students, faculty, and staff, including those with disabilities.Minimum QualificationsSalt Lake Technical College or equivalent certificate in Automation Technology and 4 years of relevant industry experience, OR 6 years of relevant industry experience.Preferred QualificationsSalt Lake Technical College or equivalent certificate in Automation Technology and 6 years of relevant industry experience.Salt Lake Community College is Utah's largest open-access college in the state.
