Addiction Medicine Physician

Mount Sinai West is seeking a full-time Addiction Psychiatrist or Addiction Medicine Physician to join its Addiction Institute at Mount Sinai West. This hybrid role involves clinical supervision of fellows in both inpatient and outpatient settings, as well as direct patient care. The position offers a faculty appointment at the Icahn School of Medicine, providing opportunities for clinical teaching and career development within a leading academic medical system.

Practice Info

• The Inpatient Addiction Unit and Outpatient Program are co-located on the ninth floor of Mount Sinai West Hospital in Midtown Manhattan.
• Staffed by an interdisciplinary team of physicians, nurse practitioners, psychologists, mental health clinicians, nurses, and trainees.
• The outpatient addiction continuity clinic provides the full spectrum of addiction pharmacotherapy, including injectable buprenorphine products.
• This is an academic position with a faculty appointment at the Icahn School of Medicine.

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical supervision to addiction psychiatry and addiction medicine fellows in both inpatient and outpatient settings.
• Provide clinical care to a small census of inpatients on the Inpatient Addiction Unit.
• Provide clinical supervision to addiction medicine fellows in their outpatient addiction continuity clinic.
• Provide direct patient care in the outpatient clinic.
• Clinical teaching of medical students, residents, and fellows in addiction psychiatry and addiction medicine.
• Collaborate with colleagues as an integral part of a health system.

Compensation

• Compensation range from $240,000 to $275,000 annually (not including bonuses / incentive compensation or benefits).
• Salary range listed is for full-time employment and does not include bonuses / incentive compensation or benefits.

Requirements

• MD/DO from an accredited medical school.
• Completion of an ACGME-accredited fellowship in addiction psychiatry or addiction medicine.
• ABMS or AOA Board Certified or Board Eligible in addiction psychiatry or addiction medicine if within 3 years of fellowship graduation.
• Ability to obtain a full and unrestricted New York State medical license.
• Ability to obtain a full and unrestricted DEA license.
