Acute Pain Physician

The University of Pittsburgh Medical Center (UPMC) Department of Anesthesiology and Perioperative Medicine is seeking a physician to provide general anesthesia and acute pain management at UPMC Mercy hospital. Physicians will join a diverse anesthesiology group managing a broad variety of cases including major adult subspecialty care. UPMC offers a dynamic clinical environment with opportunities for custom position and salary structuring.

Practice Info

• UPMC Mercy is a 488-bed tertiary care hospital in the uptown district of Pittsburgh
• Only Catholic hospital in the region, providing specialized services such as women's health, neurological, thoracic, and orthopedic care
• Neuroradiology Stroke Intervention Center, Level 1 Adult Trauma Center, American Burn Association-verified Adult Burn Center, and Pediatric Burn Center
• UPMC Mercy has 16 inpatient ORs, six outpatient ORs, a busy endoscopy suite, interventional neuroradiology suite, MRI, hydrotherapy unit for burn care, and electrophysiology suite
• Case selection includes all but solid organ transplants, with highlights in voice, airway-modification, robotic, thoracic, trauma, orthopedic, vascular, neurosurgery, and complex maxillofacial surgeries

• Provide general anesthesia and acute pain management at UPMC Mercy hospital

Qualifications

• Candidates must be ABA board-eligible, certified, or equivalent
• Have ACGME-accredited acute pain fellowship training
• Possess or qualify for an unrestricted medical license in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
