Acute Care Surgeon Opportunity

The Division of Acute Care Surgery (ACS) at the University of Nebraska Medical Center (UNMC) in Omaha seeks a dedicated Acute Care Surgeon to join a collaborative team of 20 surgeons and a robust group of advanced practice providers. The role requires leading the delivery of high‑quality, compassionate care in a dynamic, high‑volume environment.

Scope of Practice and Responsibilities

• Elective and emergency general surgery
• Trauma surgery
• Surgical critical care
• Management of high‑acuity patients
• Participation in clinical research and educational programs
• Mentoring residents, fellows, and medical students

Qualifications

• MD/DO or equivalent degree
• Board certification or eligibility in Surgical Critical Care
• Completed a fellowship in Surgical Critical Care
• Strong interest in teaching and training
• Ability to work effectively in a fast‑paced, high‑volume setting
