Overview

Cabinet Peaks Medical Center is seeking energetic nurses dedicated to high-quality and compassionate care to join our Medical Surgical/Acute Care Team! $8/hr Specialty Diff.

Currently seeking: Night shift positions.

Responsibilities

A Registered Nurse (RN) provides direct and indirect patient care in the Medical-Surgical setting. This role requires communication with Providers, Medical Surgical/co‑workers, and other staff to update on changes in patient’s clinical condition, including diagnostic study results and symptomatology. The RN must respond quickly and accurately to changes in condition or response to treatment, and perform general nursing duties in all departments—including assessments, planning, interventions, evaluations, and execution of the medical regimen, as well as administering medications and treatments prescribed by authorized prescribers under state law and hospital policy.

Skills, Knowledge, & Abilities

  • Basic computer knowledge.
  • Able to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
  • Knowledge of nursing care principles, practices, and procedures.
  • Knowledge of safety principles and infection prevention in the patient care environment.
  • Ability to assess patient’s needs and coordinate appropriate nursing care.
  • Knowledge of rehabilitative nursing including pre‑ and post‑operative care.
  • Must be able to pass N‑95 respiratory testing or wear a Powered Air Purifying Respirator (PAPR) annually; specialty unit employees for areas such as ICU and OB.
  • Must meet clinical competency standards specific to the assigned areas.
  • Demonstrates an ability to be flexible, organized, and function under stressful situations.

Education Requirements

  • A.D.N or B.S.N from an accredited school of nursing.
  • Current state Registered Nurse licensure within the state of practice.
  • Current BLS certification.
  • Current ACLS certification (must obtain within 6 months of hire).
  • NRP and PALS required for working in specific specialty areas.

Experience

No experience is required; however, 1 or more years of full‑time experience in a related area is preferred.

Schedule

Shifts/hours may vary depending on the needs of the department for excellent patient care and should be confirmed with the Acute Care Manager.
