Actuarial AnalystOur Boston-based Actuarial team is seeking a self-motivated and creative Actuarial Analyst. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, an analytical mindset, and an eagerness to learn and implement new ideas into current operationsResponsibilities:Utilize core actuarial skillsets including ratemaking, and reservingAnalyze complex internal and external data to understand drivers of trends and profitabilityProvide support for state rate filings, including building and supporting the rate indicationsCommunicate effectively in writing and verbally, to support business outcomesPerform analyses to identify, test, and inform critical business decisionsCollaborate with Product, Claims, and Finance to get work done and collect helpful feedback that can be used to improve actuarial estimatesMonitor the competitive, and regulatory environment for auto insurance, proactively identifying emerging threats to our objectives and implementing solutionsQualifications:You know how to utilize quantitative approaches to generate sound business analysesYou know how to gain alignment on your ideas through effective storytellingYou know how to balance multiple projects at once, with a focus on accuracy and efficiencyExperience developing and implementing new, creative and effective solutions to highly complex business issuesDemonstrated problem solving experience gained through related coursework and work experienceAbility to communicate effectively to both technical and non-technical audiencesProficiency in Excel and coding skills (SQL, R, VBA, or Python)Commitment to achieving membership in the Casualty Actuarial Society. Passing grades on at least 4 actuarial exams preferred.2+ years in an actuarial role, preferably within auto or homeowners insuranceBachelors or higher-level degreeSalary Range:The pay range for this position is $69,000 to $90,500 annually.
