Position Overview
The Activity Director plans and coordinates the social, cultural, recreational, and spiritual activities for residents. This position coordinates the "Lets Make a Difference Program" and works under the direction of a professional Registered Nurse or a Licensed Nurse in the absence of the Director of Nursing.
Qualifications
- Education: Graduate of an Accredited High School or GED Program
- License: Completion of a State Certified course (GNHA) or may qualify with two years experience in long-term care and application to take next available test.
- Experience: Preferred but not required.
Physical & Mental Demands
- Ability to think and work effectively under stress with frequent interruptions; to move, sit, stand, and walk and bend intermittently throughout the day, lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.
- Must possess sight and hearing senses or use prosthetics that will enable these sources to function adequately so that the requirements of this position can be fully met.
- Use of mechanical and technical equipment required for the responsibilities assigned.
