POSITIONPURPOSE:
Plan, organize, develop, and direct the overall operation of the Activity Department in accordance with current federal,state,and local standards,guidelinesand regulations, our establishedpoliciesandprocedures,and as maybe directedbythe Administrator, to assure than an on-goingprogramofactivities is designed to meet the interests and the physical, mental, and psychosocial well-being of eachresident.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSOFPOSITION:
- Establishesanactivityprogramofwidevarietyforresidents,enhancingtheresidents'"wellness",inharmonywiththeoverallplanofcaresetforthbytheHealthCareTeam.
- Plans,implements,supervisesandsupportsalloperationsoftheactivitiesdepartment.
- Directsandorganizestherapeutic activitiestoassistresidentstomeetcareplanobjectives.
- Responsibleforensuringseven(7) dayactivityplanisdevelopedandadheredto.
- Regulatescontentof programinaccordancewithresidents'abilities,needsand interests.Programmustmeet FederalandStateguidelines.
- Maintainsdocumentationon each resident including assessments,care plans, and progressnotes. Documentationreflects residents'reactionsand evidence of progressor other change ofcondition.
- Counselsandencouragesresidentstodevelopindependentleisureactivities.
- Organizesand coordinatesspecialoutings and accompaniesresidentson outings such as baiigames,sightseeing,and/orpicnics.
- Develops monthly activitiesthatareseasonalandappropriateforthetypeofresidentserved.
- Participates in departmental budgetplanningandsuppliesmonthlyreport toAdministrator.
- Supervisesandconductsin-servicetrainingforstaffmembersontopicspertainingtoactivitiesandrecreation.
- Understandsandadherestotheguidelinesof"ResidentsRights".
- Perform additional dutiesasassigned
EDUCATION/REQUIREMENTS:
Prefer candidate to have SRNA license.
Activities Director Certification required.Associate's Degree preferred plus a minimum of 3 years relevantexperience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.Must be a qualified therapeuticrecreationspecialistoranactivitiesprofessionalwhoislicensedbythestate,andiseligibleforcertification as a recreation specialist or as an activities professional.Experience in a social or recreationprogram within the last 5 years; or must be a qualified occupational therapist or occupational therapyassistant.Musthavehighenergy,creativethinking,andstrong leadershipskills.
