Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and evaluate activities programs that cater to the diverse interests and abilities of our residents
- Collaborate with other departments, such as Nursing, Therapy, and Dietary, to ensure resident-centered care and support
- Plan and execute activities that promote physical, mental, psycho-social, and spiritual well‑being, including arts and crafts, exercise classes, games, and entertainment events
- Recruit and train volunteers to assist with activities and provide support to residents
- Assess and document resident participation and satisfaction, making adjustments to the program as needed
- Maintain accurate records and reports of activities, including attendance, participation, and any issues or concerns
- Ensure compliance with federal and state regulations, as well as facility policies and procedures
Requirements
- Activity Director experience in a skilled nursing setting, with a strong understanding of the elder adult population
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage with residents, families, and staff
- Ability to adapt to changing circumstances and prioritize resident needs and preferences
- High school diploma or equivalent required; degree in recreation therapy, gerontology, or a related field preferred
