Advanced Care Technician Cna
We are seeking a compassionate Advanced Care Technician (ACT-Float) to support nursing staff by providing essential patient care and comfort. This role involves assisting patients across various age groups, including infants, emergency pediatric, and adult populations, under the supervision of a Registered Nurse.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain a safe and clean environment adhering to unit safety and infection control standards.
- Deliver comfort measures and assist with patients' daily needs, including meal assistance.
- Record and report vital signs such as temperature, pulse, weight, and monitor daily input and output.
- Clean and prepare medical equipment, reporting any issues promptly.
- Assist with patient transport as needed.
- Prepare formula in the NICU department when required.
Qualifications
- ACT: Preferred 3-6 months experience in an acute care setting.
- ACT-Float: Preferred 1 year of acute care experience.
- NICU Department: Required minimum 2 years CNA experience with strong pediatric background preferred.
- Basic computer proficiency is necessary.
- Ability to communicate effectively in English, both written and verbal.
- Familiarity with electronic charting is a plus.
Education
- Must hold one or more of the following upon hire:
- Current Certified Nurse Assistant Certification
- Licensed Vocational Nurse license
- Military Corpsman experience
- Nursing student who has completed fundamentals including initial assessment and vital signs
Certification
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association required upon hire.
- Nonviolent Crisis Intervention (NVCI) certification required within 90 days for specific departments.
- Completion of at least 10 continuing education hours related to work annually in lieu of licensure maintenance.
All candidates must successfully pass a physical exam, drug screening, and background check prior to employment.
