Valley Community Services Board is seeking a dynamic individual to join the Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) team as a clinician. ACT provides a multidisciplinary team approach to stabilize and support individuals suffering from Serious Mental Illness (SMI) and/or co-occurring diagnosis. The team clinician will provide direct clinical services to clients in the community setting. This position will provide individualized, family, and group therapy; crisis intervention and safety planning; administer standardized assessments; and provide clinical and diagnostic assessment of individuals to determine treatment needs and goals. The ACT clinician will be a full-time, exempt, position. This position will be a fully participating member of the interdisciplinary treatment team. The ACT clinician must at a minimum must have a Master's degree from an accredited university or college with a Department of Health Professionals (DPG) license-eligible program. The ACT clinician must be a licensed mental health professional or licensed eligible. LPC or LCSW preferred. A combination of exceptional clinical and organizational skills is a must, as is experience working with adults with severe and persistent mental illness.

- Conduct clinical assessments, intakes, and diagnostic evaluations
- Provide individual and group therapy using evidence-based practices
- Deliver services in community settings to support client independence and recovery
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans with the ACT team
- Provide crisis intervention, stabilization, and safety planning
- Maintain a minimum of 50% direct client service time
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members and community partners
- Complete timely, accurate clinical documentation in the EHR system
- Participate in daily team meetings and clinical supervision
- Ensure compliance with client rights, confidentiality, and regulatory standards
Minimum Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Counseling, Social Work, or related field
- License-eligible in Virginia
- Valid driver's license (or ability to obtain within 90 days)
- Willingness to provide community-based services and local travel
- LPC or LCSW (or working toward licensure)
- Experience with SMI and/or co-occurring disorders
- Strong clinical judgment, organization, and documentation skills
- Excellent communication and ability to engage diverse populations
