Right Of Way Specialist / Acquisition Agent

We are seeking an experienced Right of Way Specialist / Acquisition Agent for a contract opportunity with our client in Bismarck, ND. This position will support land acquisition and Right of Way activities, including property research, title review, easement negotiations, permitting, stakeholder coordination, and acquisition documentation.

Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate Right of Way and land acquisition activities, including negotiations with property owners and stakeholders.
  • Review and prepare easements, deeds, leases, permits, licenses, and other real estate agreements.
  • Review title reports, appraisal reports, surveys, and other property documentation.
  • Research property ownership, title information, and existing land rights.
  • Maintain accurate acquisition and stakeholder information within project databases.
  • Prepare permit applications, acquisition reports, status reports, and other project documentation.
  • Coordinate with landowners, project teams, contractors, and other stakeholders throughout the acquisition process.
  • Support construction coordination and property restoration activities associated with Right of Way.
  • Assist with project planning, scheduling, budgeting, and tracking acquisition milestones.
  • Ensure Right of Way documentation meets project QA/QC requirements.
  • Participate in project and public involvement meetings as required.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree with 4+ years of Right of Way acquisition, relocation, eminent domain, project management, and/or real estate experience; OR
  • Associate degree with 6+ years of relevant experience; OR
  • High school diploma with 8+ years of relevant experience.
  • Experience with Right of Way acquisition and landowner negotiations.
  • Ability to read and understand title reports, appraisal reports, legal descriptions, and land surveys.
  • Knowledge of real estate title work and general real estate principles.
  • Strong written, verbal, organizational, and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Experience maintaining Right of Way or stakeholder management databases.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to meet company driving requirements.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • SR/WA designation or other International Right of Way Association (IRWA) certification.
  • Real Estate Broker or Sales License.
