The candidate will also be responsible for coordinating meetings, assessing performer technical progress, projecting performer outcomes, and ensuring that project management best practices are followed by performers, independent verification and validation (IV&V) entities funded by DARPA, and within DARPA itself.
The ideal candidate’s specific areas of interest and knowledge should include experience conducting scientific and technical analyses of undersea acoustic propagation and its application to surveillance methodologies.Responsibilities:Conducting scientific and technical analysesTake part in periodic performer assessments to analyze program, technical and schedule risks; develop risk mitigation strategies; communicate findings to program managerTechnical evaluations and guidance on reports, briefings, and other performer communicationsPresentation and report preparationIdentification of national security challenges and participation in the development of portfolio-level strategies to address them.Support further research solicitations and proposal evaluationsProgram administration, including development of technical analyses, identification of technology gaps, technical risk management, project cost estimation, technology transfer efforts, as well as supporting technical reviews.Attend and organize program reviews/site visits/field tests.Requirements:Technical expertise in undersea acoustic surveillance or wave propagationDemonstrated ability at leading cross-functional teamsDeep technical fluency along with executive-level communicationExperience in field test planning and executionAbility to work with military transition partnersWillingness to participate in domestic and foreign travelDoD TS security clearance.Desired capabilities and characteristics:Technical expertise in some of the following areas:Undersea acoustic propagation modeling (experience with parabolic equation models, ray theory, normal mode, and wavenumber integration models).Environmental acoustics with understanding how temperature, salinity, pressure, and seabed composition affect sound propagation.Acoustic sensor systems (sonar design, hydrophones, and towed array systems).Knowledge of sound source localization and target tracking in complex underwater environments.Modeling, simulation, and tools such as, Bellhop, RAM, CASS/GRAB, Kraken, or OASES.Current DoD TS/SCI security clearanceIf you are interested in this position, please send a copy of your latest resume at All employment is decided on the basis of qualifications, merit, and business need.iQuasar, LLC is an Equal Opportunity and Affirmative Action Employer.
