Working remotely on a contract basis, the ACL Firewall Engineer will leverage advanced firewall technologies and security principles to develop secure network environments, supporting critical VA operations and safeguarding sensitive data. Key responsibilities Develop and maintain firewall policies to ensure compliance with federal security standards Collaborate with IT teams to implement and manage ACL configurations across VA networks Conduct ACL audits and assist in incident response related to firewall security events Required qualifications Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Electronics Engineering with 10+ years of IT experience, or 18+ years of experience in lieu of a degree Experience designing, implementing, and managing firewall ACLs for network security Knowledge of federal security standards and compliance requirements Ability to collaborate effectively with network engineers and security personnel Eligibility to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance
