Work Hours: Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.

Duties and Key Responsibilities

• Processes and follows-up on all assigned Physician Practice locations insurance claims until proper reimbursement is received.
• Monitors and reviews all denials and unpaid claims and takes appropriate corrective action as necessary.
• Utilizes telephone and various carrier websites as research tools to expedite resolution for issues.
• Reviews carrier manuals and websites for any new procedures implemented by carrier that are impacting claims.
• Consistently meets established completion times for claims/assignments.
• Makes all necessary corrections on claims for submission.
• Processes mail and explanation of benefits in a timely manner.
• Processes hard-copy billing, documenting amount and date sent on office’s information system.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Typing, basic math calculations, computer oriented, and good verbal skills.
• Able to work without direct supervision, work well in a group setting.
• Ability to work independently with excellent time management skills.
• Ability to recall details and health insurance procedures/processes.

Education/Certifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent

Experience

• Previous experience is preferred but not required.
