Accounts Payable SpecialistMCS is seeking a skilled accounts payable specialist to provide financial, administrative and clerical services and to ensure accuracy and efficiency of operations. Performs a variety of accounting and bookkeeping duties according to established policies and procedures. Maintains contact with attorneys, staff, vendors and clients and observes confidentiality of client and firm matters.ResponsibilitiesKeep track and process accounts and incoming payments in compliance with financial policies and proceduresPerform day to day financial transactions including verifying, classifying, computing, posting and recording accounts receivable dataPrepare bills, invoices and bank depositsReconcile the accounts receivable ledger to ensure that all payments are accounted for and properly posted.Verify discrepancies by and resolve clients' billing issuesFacilitate swift payment of invoices due to the organization by sending bill reminders and contacting clients with outstanding accountsGenerate financial statements and reports detailing accounts receivable statusResearches cash receipts, coding and posting of receipts.Oversees client trust accounts, accounts receivable write-offs and payment reversals.Develops automated spreadsheets.Organizes and maintains up to date financial records.Provides monthly financial and management reports.Maintains telephone and personal contact with attorneys, staff and vendors on receivable matters as directed by manager.Reads, uses and is familiar with computer systems manuals and procedures, maintains and updates procedural manuals as needed.Assists in financial management and analysis, as requested.Organizes and maintains retention files for required period of time.RequirementsHigh School Diploma or GED equivalent required, college level accounting classes or Accounting Degree preferred.Federal/Government Accounting experience preferred4-6 years hands-on Accounting experience.Basic computer skills and word processing.Some experience with spreadsheets and automated accounting systemsAbility to work independently, self-starter, energeticFlexibility to adapt to all situations and work varied hours.Ability to perform at high levels in a fast paced ever-changing work environmentTimberline Experience PreferredWe are proud to be an equal opportunity employer and encourage minorities, women, protected veterans and disabled individuals to apply.
