Accounts Payable SpecialistLHH Recruitment Solutions is partnering with a stable, mission-driven organization in the San Diego area to hire an experienced Accounts Payable Specialist.This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys accounts payable but wants a role with more substance than simply processing high volumes of invoices. You'll join a collaborative accounting team where accuracy, judgment and attention to detail matter. The AP volume itself is manageable, but the team is looking for someone comfortable digging into the details and determining the appropriate accounting treatment for the invoices.This position is a hybrid position offering 2 days remote weekly.What You'll DoManage full-cycle accounts payable, including invoice approvals, coding and entryReview invoices for proper documentation, coding and accuracyHandle more complex invoices involving multiple expense categories, split coding and prepaid expensesSupport AP month-end close activitiesReview corporate credit card activity and employee expense reportsWork within Concur and assist with expense and invoice-related questionsPrepare payment requests including ACH, wires and check runsSupport AP activity across multiple entitiesResearch and resolve vendor discrepancies and payment inquiriesPartner with internal departments to obtain approvals and resolve invoice issuesAssist with audit support and supporting documentationHelp identify opportunities to improve AP processes, workflows and internal controlsMaintain and help develop AP procedures and documentationWhat We're Looking For5+ years of accounts payable experienceStrong understanding of full-cycle AP and internal controlsExperience working with complex invoice coding, accrual-related activities and/or prepaid expensesExperience supporting multiple entities is a plusSAP Concur or similar software experience is preferredIntermediate Microsoft Excel skills preferredAbility to work independently and think critically through coding and payment questionsStrong attention to detail and organizational skillsBachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related area preferred, although equivalent experience may be consideredCompensation & BenefitsCompetitive salary and compensation packageDiscretionary annual bonus based on individual and company performanceHybrid schedule with two days a week remoteMedical, dental and vision coverage 100% covered for the employee401(k) with match3 weeks of PTOGenerous paid holiday scheduleIf you've spent your career in accounts payable but want to move beyond high-volume, repetitive processing, this role offers the chance to take greater ownership of the AP function.
