Accounts Payable Specialist – Edison, NJ

Our client, a leading building materials manufacturer and distributor, is growing and seeking an experienced Accounts Payable Specialist to join their team in Edison, NJ.

This is an excellent opportunity for an AP professional who enjoys a fast-paced environment, working with vendors, resolving invoice issues, and playing an important role in the company's accounting operations.

📍 5 Days On-Site | Monday–Friday | Edison, NJ

Remote or hybrid work is not available for this position.

Key Responsibilities:

• Process, code, and review vendor invoices for accuracy and timely payment
• Perform 2-way and 3-way matching of invoices to purchase orders
• Resolve EDI invoice errors and discrepancies between invoices, goods receipts, and shipping charges
• Reconcile vendor statements and ensure all invoices and credits are properly recorded
• Handle transactions related to direct and drop shipments, including proforma invoicing and cost adjustments
• Communicate with vendors to resolve invoice and payment issues
• Set up new vendors and maintain accurate vendor information
• Prepare and process vendor payments, ensuring accuracy and timely approval
• Monitor expenses and review invoices and expense reports
• Manage AP email accounts and respond promptly and professionally to inquiries
• Assist with month-end close activities, including AP accruals and reconciliations
• Support additional accounting projects as needed

Qualifications:

• Associate's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
• 5+ years of accounts payable experience
• SAP experience required
• Experience with iPayables/onPhase (Invoiceworks) and Concur is a plus
• Strong understanding of basic accounting, finance, and bookkeeping principles
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
• Strong communication and problem-solving abilities
