Accounts Payable Specialist

We are looking for an Accounts Payable Specialist to join a construction-focused accounting team in Corona, California on a Contract basis. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys fast-paced invoice processing, works well with internal stakeholders, and brings a service-oriented approach to financial operations.

The role offers the opportunity to support essential payment activities, contribute to accurate project-related accounting, and build expertise within a dynamic construction environment.Responsibilities:• Process a large volume of vendor invoices with accuracy and ensure payments move through the approval cycle on schedule.• Review billing documents for completeness, verify account coding, and resolve discrepancies before entry.• Oversee accounts payable communications by monitoring shared inboxes, responding to inquiries, and directing items to the appropriate team members.• Partner with project managers and accounting staff to support timely payment processing and maintain smooth coordination across projects.• Maintain organized vendor files and payment records to support audit readiness and day-to-day operational efficiency.• Assist with construction-related accounting tasks such as compliance documentation, billing support, and lien release tracking when needed.• Provide occasional support for accounts receivable activities during periods of increased workload.• Use accounting systems and technology tools, including AI-enabled resources, to improve workflow efficiency and accuracy.• Support payment execution activities, including ACH processing and check runs, in alignment with company procedures.
