Key Responsibilities
- Lead the day-to-day Accounts Payable function across multiple operating companies.
- Supervise, mentor, and develop a team of Accounts Payable professionals.
- Oversee high-volume invoice processing, vendor payments, ACH transactions, wire transfers, and weekly payment cycles.
- Ensure timely and accurate processing of vendor and subcontractor invoices while maintaining strong financial controls.
- Partner with Accounting during month-end and year-end close activities, including AP accruals and account reconciliations.
- Review vendor statements, AP aging, and outstanding liabilities to ensure timely resolution of discrepancies.
- Maintain compliance with vendor documentation, W-9s, 1099 reporting, lien waivers, and other payment-related requirements.
- Collaborate with Operations, Procurement, Project Management, and Finance leadership to improve workflows and support business objectives.
- Drive process improvements, automation initiatives, and ERP optimization to increase efficiency and scalability.
- Help standardize Accounts Payable processes across multiple entities while supporting future business integration efforts.
Required
- 5+ years of progressive Accounts Payable experience.
- Previous supervisory or management experience.
- Experience in high-volume, ERP-driven accounting environments.
- Strong knowledge of:
- Accounts Payable operations
- Vendor reconciliations
- Accrual accounting
- Month-end close
- Internal controls
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Strong organizational, communication, and leadership abilities.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience within construction, infrastructure services, industrial services, engineering, manufacturing, or other project-based industries.
- Multi-entity accounting experience.
- Experience with Sage CRE 300, TimberScan, or similar ERP systems.
- Experience supporting organizations that have grown through acquisition.
- Experience working within a private equity-backed environment.
