Accounts Payable Clerk

Job Description:

Berkot’s Super Foods, a family-owned and rapidly growing grocery chain in Illinois, is seeking an organized and detail-oriented Accounts Payable Clerk to join our Accounting team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing vendor payments, processing invoices, and ensuring the accuracy of financial records in line with our commitment to efficiency and excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

- Invoice Processing: Review and verify invoices for accuracy, matching purchase orders and receipts.

- Reconciliation: Reconcile vendor statements and resolve payment discrepancies in a timely manner.

- Data Entry: Enter invoices and payment details into the accounting system accurately.

- Vendor Management: Maintain relationships with vendors, ensuring up-to-date and accurate files.

- Expense Reporting: Assist in tracking and processing employee expense reports and reconciling corporate credit cards.

- Quarter-End Closing: Collaborate with the Accounting team on quarter-end processes and journal entries.

Qualifications:

- Education: High school diploma required; Associate’s degree in Accounting or related field preferred.

- Experience: 2+ years of experience in Accounts Payable or related accounting functions.

- Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, and experience with accounting software (QuickBooks, SAP, or similar). 

- Detail-Oriented: Strong analytical skills and the ability to work with a high volume of transactions accurately and in a timely manner.

- Communication: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with internal teams and external vendors.

Hours: In-Person, 40 hours per week, Monday - Friday

Pay rate: $17 - $22 per hour (depending on experience)
