Accounts And Special Projects CoordinatorThe Accounts and Special Projects Coordinator performs accounting functions for specific programs within the department. This position will work under minimal supervision using advanced level fiscal support, ensuring that the county programs will be effectively and efficiently accounted for.Essential DutiesWork on assigned specific projects, relating to accounting for licenses obtained through the Treasurer's Office, to included fishing, hunting, doe, dog, pistol, and small games of chance, and so forth assigned by the Treasurer or Deputy Treasurer.Investigate changes in legislature to assure the special projects continue to meet State requirements.Upload cash drawers for Treasurer, Tax Claims, Health, Parks, and any other departments possessing cash drawers.Assist in strengthening internal controlsPut away cash drawers; lock safe and public entrance to Treasurer department.Prepare state agent audit reports for State AuditorCreate Tax Certifications as requestedWork with contacts at State to secure funding for projects, materials, and equipment issuesResponsible for ensuring that cashiering system is functional; troubleshoot and resolve issuesMaintain inventory of needed state agent supplies such as licenses, paper, documents, flyers, handouts signs books etc.Train any offsite/ outside agents new licensing protocol and lawsAssure that any specialized programs written for special projects are working correctly; contact vendor for troubleshooting or requestsPrepare to assist another Special Projector Coordinator as necessary to meet with increased demand and time constraintsWhen needed, train and oversee the staff dealing with the demands of the windowCoordinate and direct work assignments as directed by the Treasurer or DeputyPerform other duties, tasks and special projects, as required.Qualifications/Preferred Skills, Knowledge & ExperienceQualifications / Requirements:Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in accounting, or equivalent combination of education and experience.Three years of job related experience.Intermediate skill to use a personal computer and various software packages.Strong interpersonal skills.Strong mathematical and accounting skills.Accurate and detail oriented.Ability to use standard office machines (fax, copier, calculator, etc.).Integrity and honesty.Ability to multi-task, and maintain composure during times of stress.Preferred Skills, Knowledge & Experience:Intermediate to advanced level of accounting or mathematics.Previous work experience in government finance.Willingness to jump in and help others when necessary.Ability to work independently.Excellent verbal and written communications skills.Willingness to take on projects or tasks.General knowledge of County of Chester policies and procedures.Additional InformationRelevant background checks, clearances, physicals, drug tests, and any other assessments or evaluations will be conducted after an offer of employment is given per County policy.Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual should have:Intermediate Word skillsIntermediate Excel skillsIntermediate Access skillsBasic PowerPoint skillsPeopleSoft Financial skills or the ability to learn PeopleSoftBasic OutLook skills (Email and Calendar)Basic Internet skills (research purposes)Basic knowledge and skill with various accounting software
