The Accounting Specialist will perform routine clerical, secretarial and administrative work in supporting all departments including answering telephones, receiving the public, providing customer assistance, data processing, reconciling and record keeping.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES(Includes the following and other duties may be assigned)Responsible for:Accounts payable duties as assigned focusing on company purchases and expenses which will include compiling, coding, posting, check writing and reconciling all records in an efficient mannerAssisting Accounts Receivable department with customer payments and various tasksAssisting Energy department with contract entry and various tasksAssisting Agronomy department with contract entry and various tasksSupporting the Grain DepartmentProviding customer service by answering the phone and meeting the customers needsHelping with company mailings including monthly statementsOperating Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook for reports and correspondenceAdhering to cooperative credit policyReconciling company accountsDaily housekeeping of work area and officeReporting to CFO any cost saving opportunitiesSecuring facilities and equipment when closingAdherence to safety policiesPromoting and adhering to the company Core Values of honesty, integrity & teamworkPromptly and regularly report to work and work overtime hours as neededPerforming all other duties as assignedSUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIESThis position has no supervisory responsibilities.QUALIFICATIONSTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
