Accounting Specialist

We are seeking a detail-oriented Accounting Specialist to support daily accounting operations and month-end close. This role handles accounts payable and receivable, reconciliations, payment processing, and journal entries..

Responsibilities

• Review and process vendor invoices, verifying accuracy, coding, and approvals.
• Prepare ACH, check, wire, and credit card payments in accordance with company procedures.
• Support accounts receivable, post daily cash receipts, and apply payments to customer accounts.
• Review and process employee expense reports for compliance with company policies.
• Complete bank, balance sheet, and P&L account reconciliations; investigate and resolve discrepancies.
• Perform monthly intercompany reconciliations and resolve differences across multiple entities.
• Prepare and post journal entries to support an accurate and timely month-end close.
• Maintain supporting documentation and ensure financial transactions are recorded accurately.
• Assist with financial reporting, budget preparation, and tracking expenses against budget.
• Prepare schedules and documentation for audits.
• Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and accuracy.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in accounting, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, reconciliations, and journal entries.
• Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
• Strong Microsoft Excel skills, including PivotTables and VLOOKUP.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Word and Outlook.
• Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to manage competing deadlines.
