Accounting Manager

Our client, a growing small business, is seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to lead day-to-day accounting operations and support overall financial management. This is a great opportunity for a hands-on accounting professional who enjoys working in a dynamic environment, building processes, and partnering closely with leadership. The ideal candidate will be comfortable managing multiple accounting functions while helping ensure accurate financial reporting and compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee daily accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and bank reconciliations
• Manage the month-end and year-end close processes
• Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
• Monitor cash flow and assist with budgeting and forecasting activities
• Maintain internal controls and ensure compliance with accounting policies and procedures
• Review journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting documentation
• Coordinate with external CPA firms, auditors, tax advisors, and payroll providers
• Support process improvements and help streamline accounting workflows
• Provide financial reporting and analysis to support business decisions
• Supervise accounting support staff, if applicable

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience
• Previous management or supervisory experience preferred
• Strong understanding of general ledger accounting, financial reporting, and month-end close
• Experience in a small company or fast-paced environment preferred
• Proficiency with accounting software and Microsoft Excel
• Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and problem-solving abilities
• CPA designation or public accounting experience is a plus
