At TCII (www.tciicapital.com), we’re building a different kind of commercial real estate company.
We own, lease, and manage retail shopping centers throughout Florida and other parts of the US, while growing a third-party property management platform that creates long-term relationships and value-add opportunities.
We’re in an exciting stage of growth, rebuilding the company with an entrepreneurial mindset, modern systems, and a relentless focus on operational excellence.
We’re looking for an Accounting Manager who wants more than another accounting position.
We’re looking for someone who wants to help build an accounting department, improve processes, work alongside leadership, and grow into a larger leadership role as the company expands.
Working directly with the Controller and leadership team, you’ll own key accounting functions across our real estate portfolio while helping improve the way we operate.
Your responsibilities will include:
· Managing the monthly close process
· Preparing journal entries and account reconciliations
· Producing accurate monthly financial statements
· Property and lease accounting
· CAM reconciliations and annual tenant true-ups
· Rent billing, collections, and tenant account reconciliations
· General ledger maintenance
· Cash management and bank reconciliations
· Investor reporting and capital account support
· Supporting acquisitions and onboarding new properties
· Identifying opportunities to automate and improve accounting processes
· Building scalable procedures as the company grows
Specifically:
· Financial Reporting (Monthly/Quarterly/Annual)
· General Ledger & Accounting Operations
· Accounts Receivable
· Property & Lease Accounting
· Cash & Treasury Management
· Investor Relations & Accounting
· Internal Controls & Compliance
· Budgeting & Forecasting
This is a hands-on role with significant opportunity to take ownership and influence how our accounting department evolves.
Required
· 5+ years of accounting experience
· Commercial real estate accounting experience
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
· Experience with property accounting and lease accounting
· Strong understanding of GAAP
· Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
· Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail
· Strong communication and problem-solving abilities
· Demonstrated experience with reconciliations, journal entries, and the full close cycle.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
· Experience with Yardi Voyager
· Experience with CAM reconciliations
· Experience managing multiple commercial properties
· CPA or CPA track is a plus
We’re less concerned about checking every box than finding the right person.
You’ll fit well if you:
· Take ownership without waiting to be asked
· Enjoy solving problems and improving systems
· Like working in a fast-paced entrepreneurial environment
· Want to learn the business not just process transactions
· Care about accuracy but also understand deadlines
· Want to grow into greater responsibility over time
· Enjoy collaborating in person with a close-knit team
· You’re looking for a remote or hybrid position.
· You prefer highly structured corporate environments.
· You only want to perform assigned tasks without improving processes.
· You aren’t excited about helping build a growing company.
This isn’t a large corporate accounting department where you’ll spend years doing the same thing.
You’ll work directly with leadership, gain exposure to acquisitions, leasing, property management, and investment operations, and have the opportunity to grow as the company grows.
As we expand, we’re looking for people who want to build their careers with us, not just hold a position.
