Accounting Manager

We are seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to oversee core accounting operations, financial reporting, month-end close, and compliance activities. This role requires strong technical accounting skills, leadership experience, and a background supporting organizations with exposure to pension accounting, investment accounting or insurance-related accounting.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage daily accounting operations, including general ledger, account reconciliations, journal entries, and month-end/year-end close.
• Prepare and review financial statements in accordance with accounting standards.
• Lead and develop accounting staff, delegate work effectively, and ensure deadlines are met.
• Maintain and strengthen internal controls, accounting processes, and documentation.
• Coordinate with external auditors to ensure timely completion of audit requests.
• Research and apply technical accounting guidance related to complex transactions and reporting issues.
• Partner with finance and operational leaders on budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory, tax, and reporting requirements relevant to the organization.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including leadership or supervisory responsibilities.
• Experience as an Accounting Manager, Senior Accountant, Audit Manager, or similar role.
• Strong understanding of GAAP, financial reporting, and internal controls.
• CPA, CMA, or other relevant certification preferred.
• Advanced Excel skills and experience with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle Fusion, Microsoft Dynamics 365, or similar platforms.
