Regional Accounting ManagerThe Hearst Television Regional Finance team is looking for a Regional Accounting Manager. The Regional Accounting Manager works with Regional Controllers and station Business Managers to accurately prepare monthly financial results for designated stations assigned within the Region. The position is involved in the preparation and analysis of the stations' annual operating forecasts, budgets and various monthly reports including variance analyses and reconciliations.
A successful candidate must possess the ability to perform multiple projects simultaneously, while also managing the workflow of the station Business Managers.The position is in-office based at the Hearst Television business office hub, located at WCVB-TV in Needham, MA.Key ResponsibilitiesPrepare and review financial statements and supporting schedules for multiple stations in accordance with monthly and annual close requirementsPost and review financial data in general ledgers and journals; prepare and review reconciliationsManage monthly and annual close processes, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and timelinessReview accounting documentation for accuracy and proper accounting treatment; prepare and approve correcting journal entries as neededPrepare, maintain, and oversee subsidiary accounting records across a variety of transactions and accountsPerform and review account analyses and balance sheet reconciliationsPartner with Station Business Managers in the preparation of station forecasts and annual budgetsAssist in the preparation of year-end audit schedules and respond to audit-related requestsEnsure adherence to internal controls, accounting policies, and GAAP standardsPerform other related duties as assigned or requestedQualificationsBachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or equivalent relevant experienceMinimum of 3+ years of accounting experienceWorking knowledge of Oracle Financials and/or Oracle Planning & Budgeting Cloud Service (EPBCS)Experience with SmartView/Essbase and enterprise financial systems such as Oracle or SAPAdvanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel; proficient in PowerPoint, Word, and OutlookCore CompetenciesStrong time management skills with the ability to meet multiple reporting deadlinesProactive, detail-oriented professional with strong analytical and problem-solving skillsDemonstrated ability to identify process improvement opportunities and drive solutionsStrong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environmentAbility to multitask, prioritize responsibilities, and take ownership of projects and initiativesValues in ActionAt Hearst Television we tell stories every day. The actual base pay offered is dependent upon many factors, such as transferable skills, work experience, business needs, market demands and conditions, including geographic location where the work will be performed, and other factors permitted by law. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future.
