Accounting Manager

Location: Manchester, NH
Compensation: $115,000 - $125,000 annually
Schedule: Full-time | On-site

About the Opportunity

Our client, a well-established manufacturing and distribution company, is seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to oversee day-to-day accounting operations and lead the month-end and year-end close processes. This individual will serve as the primary accounting and finance resource for the site, partnering closely with leadership to ensure accurate financial reporting and strong internal controls.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the monthly close process, maintaining a 5-day close cycle.
• Prepare and review journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Manage daily cash reporting and banking activities.
• Support ongoing banking transitions and treasury-related processes.
• Analyze financial data and generate reports to support management decision-making.
• Utilize advanced Excel functions for reporting, analysis, and data management, including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUPs, and CSV data conversions.
• Partner with Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable staff to ensure smooth financial operations.
• Assist with year-end activities and continuous process improvements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including month-end close responsibility.
• Prior manufacturing experience strongly preferred.
• Strong understanding of general ledger accounting, reconciliations, and cash management.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills required.
• Experience with ERP systems; exposure to Hyperion or legacy accounting systems is a plus.
• Ability to work independently, prioritize deadlines, and thrive in a hands-on environment.
