Our client, a rapidly growing healthcare organization, is hiring an Accounting Manager to join their team in a newly created role. This position reports directly to the CFO, oversees two staff members, and offers a clear growth runway to Controller within 1–2 years. This is a mostly remote opportunity — expected to be onsite 1 day per week initially, then transition to nearly fully remote once trained and acclimated.
Responsibilities
- Lead the monthly close process, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting
- Prepare and review monthly financial statements, management reports, and variance analyses
- Maintain integrity of the general ledger, including material journal entries and subsystem interfaces (AP, payroll, revenue, fixed assets)
- Partner with Operations and Revenue Cycle teams to ensure accurate COGS, AR valuation, and revenue recognition
- Prepare executive-level financial analyses and recommendations
- Assist in the annual budget process
- Support year-end audit and tax preparation; coordinate with external auditors
- Prepare supporting schedules, surveys, and internal/external data requests
- Supervise, train, and develop two accounting team members
- Oversee bank reconciliations and maintain strong internal controls
- Participate in process improvements and policy development
- Complete ad hoc projects for the CFO as needed
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- Healthcare or health-systems industry experience required
- 3–5+ years of experience in accounting, financial reporting, and monthly close
- CPA preferred but not required
