WHY THIS ROLE IS IMPORTANT:
* Play a key role in the month‑end and year‑end close processes.
* Own GL maintenance, account reconciliations, accruals, and journal entries.
* Partner with Finance and other departments to ensure financial story is complete by addressing and resolving accounting‑related inquiries.
* Supervise a team of accountants - coach, support, and develop their growth.
* Analyze expense accounts, proactively identifying trends, discrepancies, and areas for cost optimization.
* Identify ways to automate, optimize, and improve financial operations.
* Coordinate with auditors and internal staff during financial statement and overhead audits.
* Support acquisition due diligence, data consolidation and integration activities, as needed.
THE BACKGROUND THAT FITS:
* Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance (CPA preferred).
* 5+ years of progressive accounting experience within medium to large corporate environments.
* At least 2 years of leadership and people management experience.
* Solid understanding of US GAAP and sound internal controls.
* Tech‑savvy‑strong with Excel, ERP systems, BI analytics, workflow automation.
* Prior experience in the A/E/C industry highly preferred (double bonus if you have FAR/CAS accounting experience)
