Accountant PositionWe are seeking an accountant with 1-2 years experience for the financial reporting department to perform all duties required to close the consolidated fund on a monthly basis and to prepare the financial statements. Additional tasks may include assisting the audit and tax groups on a periodic basis.Position responsibilities and duties (in order of priority):Close the books of the fund on a monthly basis including consolidation of multiple wholly-owned subsidiariesPrepare consolidated financial statementsPrepare consolidating financial statementsRecord journal entries for accruals and reclassificationsRecord inter-company eliminationsInteract with the operations department to ensure proper cutoff and proper treatment in each accounting periodReconciling reports to ensure data integrityCoordinate close process with accountant for the subsidiariesEnter monthly internal P&L true-upsRequired job skills (skills that are absolutely necessary for this position):CPA license and/or M.S. in accountingFirm understanding of accounting theoryMust have a very outgoing personality and strong relationship building skillsAcute attention to detailExcellent knowledge of Excel and Access, including macros and database queriesSuccess factors (core competencies that will contribute to success in this position):Experience in the financial services industryBasic knowledge of financial instruments, including swaps, options, and futuresEffective communicationAble to work in a highly fluid, less structured environmentSelling points (what major things about this job would excite a candidate):This position offers a candidate experience accounting for a wide variety of financial instrumentsDynamic environment that allows a candidate to continually broaden knowledge base and skill setOpportunity to work in a fast paced, intellectual environment
