Salary: $80,000 - $100,000 per year (higher for Controller level)

Fox Chapel Publishing is seeking an experienced accounting professional to oversee our daily accounting operations and ensure the accuracy and integrity of our financial reporting. You'll lead month- and year-end close, manage general ledger activities, and partner with finance and operations leaders on budgeting and forecasting. This role is a great fit for a hands-on leader with deep knowledge of accounting principles who enjoys building strong teams and finding ways to make processes run better. 

Key Responsibilities 

• Oversee and manage general accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and the general ledger. 
• Prepare and review financial statements to ensure accuracy and compliance with accounting standards. 
• Lead month- and year-end close processes, including journal entries and account reconciliations. 
• Develop and maintain internal controls that safeguard company assets and ensure compliance. 
• Collaborate with finance and operations teams to support budgeting, forecasting, and strategic planning. 
• Manage and mentor accounting staff and department leaders providing guidance, coaching, and performance feedback. 
• Coordinate with external auditors and support audits with complete, well-organized documentation. 
• Identify opportunities for process improvement and implement best practices across accounting operations. 
• Deliver timely, accurate financial reporting to internal and external stakeholders. 

Qualifications 

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting,  
• [10+] years of progressive accounting experience, including [3+] years minimum in a supervisory or management role. 
• Strong working knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting requirements. 
• Hands-on experience leading month-end and year-end close. 
• Proficiency with accounting software and advanced Excel skills. 
• Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills. 
• Some SMB experience preferred.
