Accounting Manager
Overview
The Accounting Manager will be a key member of the Controllership Group. This role offers the opportunity to gain broad exposure to the business while serving as a change agent across programming accounting processes.
Reporting to the Senior Director, Programming Accounting, the Manager will work closely with the Senior Manager of Programming Accounting and finance leadership across the organization. The position will have responsibility for key controllership processes related to programming.
Responsibilities
Partner with operational finance and legal teams to understand contractual requirements, production activities, and monetization arrangements and determine the appropriate timing and accounting treatment for programming-related transactions.
Review monthly journal entries and account reconciliations to ensure transactions, adjustments, and true-ups are accurately recorded, properly supported, and completed timely with appropriate documentation and audit trails.
Ensure transactions and accounting activities comply with company policies, U.S. GAAP, and SOX requirements.
Perform financial statement reviews for assigned Balance Sheet, Income Statement, and Cash Flow accounts, including analysis of fluctuations and preparation of supporting schedules for external reporting and disclosures.
Maintain and evaluate the design and operating effectiveness of internal controls over financial reporting and support ongoing Sarbanes-Oxley compliance.
Participate in internal and external audit activities related to TV Networks programming accounting, including providing documentation and responding to audit inquiries.
Lead, mentor, and develop accounting staff by establishing objectives, assigning responsibilities, setting priorities, and monitoring performance.
Collaborate with the Controllership and IT teams to identify opportunities for process improvements, automation, and enhancements to financial reporting and programming systems, including amortization systems.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
CPA required.
4+ years of relevant accounting or finance experience.
Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP, financial accounting standards, and internal controls.
Prior experience managing, mentoring, or developing accounting staff.
Experience working with internal and external auditors.
Media industry experience is a plus.

This is a hybrid position, requiring a minimum of three days per week in the office, subject to business needs and management direction.
