Accounting Manager (Controller Track, A/E Industry)Building Talent is partnering with a multidisciplinary architecture and engineering firm in Palo Alto seeking a strong Accounting Manager or emerging Controller to step into a key financial leadership role. This position is focused on strengthening financial operations, enhancing reporting accuracy, and supporting firm leadership with clear financial visibility.This role is well-suited for an Accounting Manager who is ready to step into a Controller-level position within a professional services environment. You'll oversee core accounting operations, improve systems and data integrity, and partner closely with executive leadership on financial performance and forward planning.Please note: Candidates without prior accounting experience in an architecture or engineering environment will not be considered.Core ResponsibilitiesOversight of general ledger, AP/AR, payroll, and monthly closePreparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statementsLeadership of budgeting, forecasting, and revenue/backlog analysisCash flow management, collections, vendor payments, and banking relationshipsOversight and optimization of Deltek Vision/Vantagepoint data integrityStrengthening reporting processes, internal controls, and financial workflowsManagement and development of accounting staffRequired ExperienceBachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA preferred)6–10+ years of progressive accounting experienceExperience supervising, mentoring, or leading accounting staffExperience within an architecture or engineering firmStrong proficiency in Deltek Vision and/or VantagepointThis role is based in Palo Alto, CA.
