Accounting Consultant (Contract)

Our client is seeking an Accountant with strong manufacturing experience to support key accounting functions. This role will focus primarily on fixed assets, inventory accounting, and selected cost accounting activities (the Accountant will not be responsible for the standard calculation). The consultant will assist with month-end close processes, account reconciliations, and financial reporting while partnering with operations and finance teams to ensure accurate accounting records. Responsibilities may include light cost accounting support; however, ownership of standard cost calculations is not required.

Key Requirements:

• Strong experience with manufacturing accounting, including fixed assets and inventory
• Experience supporting month-end close and balance sheet reconciliations
• Exposure to cost accounting concepts within a manufacturing environment
• Ability to work independently and collaborate with cross-functional teams

Work Arrangement:

• Located in western suburbs of Chicago
• Remote work outside of month-end close and the first week of each month, so applicants must be able to work in the western suburbs

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in an accounting related field
• CPA preferred
