Accounts Payable & Receivable ClerkThe Accounts Payable & Receivable Clerk is responsible for processing vendor invoices, issuing customer invoices, reconciling accounts, and supporting month-end close activities. This dual-role position requires strong organizational skills, accuracy, and the ability to communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.Accounts Payable (AP)Receive, review, and code vendor invoices in the accounting systemMatch purchase orders, packing slips, and invoices to ensure accuracySchedule and process weekly check runs and ACH paymentsReconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepanciesMaintain AP files and vendor recordsRespond to vendor inquiries regarding payment statusAccounts Receivable (AR)Generate and send customer invoices promptly and accuratelyPost cash receipts, process credit memos, and apply payments to customer accountsReconcile AR sub-ledgers to the general ledger on a monthly basisMonitor aging reports; follow up on past-due accounts and prepare statementsCollaborate with sales/customer service teams to resolve billing disputesPrepare write-off and bad debt analysis as neededMonth-End & ReportingAssist with month-end close: accruals, journal entries, and account reconciliationsPrepare AP and AR schedules and reports for management reviewSupport external and internal audits by providing documentation and explanationsQualifications & SkillsEducation: Associate degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field required; bachelor's degree preferred. Candidates currently pursuing a qualifying degree may also be considered.Experience: 2+ years in accounts payable and accounts receivable rolesExperience with ERP/accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, NetSuite, Microsoft Dynamics)Technical Skills: Strong Excel skills (VLOOKUP, pivot tables)Familiarity with electronic payment processing and banking portalsAttributes: Exceptional attention to detail and organizational abilityStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsAbility to prioritize, meet deadlines, and work independently
