Location: Richmond, VA (Onsite)

Schedule: Full-time, Monday-Friday standard business hours

Job Type: Contract-to-Hire | 6-Month Contract

Pay Rate: $20/hr - $24/hr (commensurate with experience)

Our client, a well-established organization in the manufacturing and industrial services space, is seeking an Accounting Assistant to support its Accounts Payable team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with accounts payable experience who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and is looking for long-term career growth through a contract-to-hire opportunity.


What You'll Be Doing

  • Process purchase order and non-purchase order invoices accurately and efficiently.
  • Review invoices using OCR and AP automation systems to validate pricing, quantities, and supporting documentation.
  • Match invoices against purchase orders and goods receipts while resolving discrepancies with internal business partners.
  • Enter and maintain invoice information within the ERP system.
  • Route invoices for coding and approval through automated workflow systems.
  • Assist with supplier statement reconciliations and invoice exception follow-up.
  • Communicate professionally with vendors and internal stakeholders to ensure timely issue resolution.


Required Qualifications

  • Experience working with AP automation or invoice workflow systems.
  • High-volume Accounts Payable processing experience.
  • Experience with 2-way and 3-way PO matching.
  • Supplier statement reconciliation experience.
  • Strong attention to detail and follow-through on invoice exceptions and unresolved issues.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Interest in building a long-term career within accounting or accounts payable.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • SAP experience.
  • Experience using Medius or similar AP automation tools.
  • Manufacturing industry experience. xhqgsiq
  • Advanced Excel skills, including Pivot Tables and VLOOKUPs.
