Accounting AssistantWe are seeking an Accounting Assistant to join our legal team. In this entry level role, you will support the accounting department by analyzing financial information, maintaining accurate records of incoming and outgoing payments, preparing payroll, and other essential accounting tasks. The ideal candidate is highly organized with strong communication skills.Responsibilities include:Review and understanding of client costsSettlement disbursement preparationVendor communication and paymentPayment of all client invoicesQuickBooks reportingReview files, reports, and other documents to obtain information and respond to requestsManage disputes, cancellations, refunds, etc.Develop and improve processes and tools to successfully perform role in support of the Finance & Accounting teamPartner with firm leaders to ensure financial excellence throughout firmAssist with other requests and projects as neededQualifications include:Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or a related fieldMust be highly committed to quality and customer service in a fast-paced legal environmentMust be proficient with spreadsheets, experienced in Google Workspace, QuickBooks, and basic accounting systemAbility to prioritize, multi-task and willingness to learn new skillsStrong analytical, written, verbal, and listening skills requiredAbility to identify potential issues or errorsMust be able to communicate effectively, be well organized, and detail orientedCompany may perform a background checkMinimum of 2 references preferredAt Hinojosa Law, we believe in giving our clients the truth about where their case stands.
