Our Central Oregon client is seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to take ownership of key accounting functions while partnering closely with leadership and cross-functional teams. This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on accounting professional who enjoys solving problems, improving processes, and mentoring others.
This is a hybrid position with 3 days per week in the office in Sisters, Oregon.
What You’ll Do
- Lead accurate and timely month-end close, including journal entries, account reconciliations, general ledger management, and financial analysis.
- Support project accounting, including WIP, job costing, revenue and cost tracking, budgeting, forecasting, and long-term project accounting.
- Manage multi-entity and intercompany accounting, researching discrepancies and resolving complex or unusual transactions.
- Identify and implement process improvements and automation to improve the efficiency and accuracy of accounting and reporting functions.
- Play a key role in a major ERP implementation, helping improve systems, processes, and reporting.
- Review accounting work and mentor accounting staff, providing guidance and ensuring accuracy.
- Support internal controls, audits, and compliance with GAAP and company policies.
What We’re Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field.
- 5+ years of hands-on accounting experience, ideally within construction, engineering, manufacturing, field services, or a related industry.
- Strong understanding of GAAP, financial statement preparation, journal entries, and account reconciliations.
- Experience with WIP, project accounting, revenue recognition, and percentage-of-completion accounting preferred.
- Ability to review accounting work, mentor or guide team members, and communicate financial information effectively.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently and exercise sound judgment.
- Experience with ERP systems and advanced Excel skills.
