About the Role
We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Accountant with 2–5 years of accounting experience to join our team in Secaucus, NJ.
The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of U.S. GAAP, financial reporting, general accounting, tax compliance, and audit support, along with hands-on experience in month-end close, account reconciliations, and accounting systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate financial records, general ledger accounts, and accounting reports.
- Support monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes.
- Prepare journal entries, accruals, adjusting entries, and account reconciliations.
- Prepare and analyze financial statements and supporting schedules.
- Ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP, company policies, and applicable regulations.
- Assist with federal and state tax compliance and reporting.
- Support internal and external audits by preparing documentation and schedules.
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
- Monitor internal controls, investigate discrepancies, and recommend process improvements.
- Utilize Excel and ERP/accounting systems to improve reporting accuracy and efficiency.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 2–5 years of relevant accounting experience.
- Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and accounting principles.
- Hands-on experience with financial statements, journal entries, reconciliations, and month-end close
- Exposure to tax preparation, tax compliance, and financial audits.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including PivotTables and VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP.
- Experience with ERP/accounting systems such as NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, QuickBooks, or Microsoft Dynamics.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Active CPA license or certification.
- Experience in public accounting or a CPA firm.
- Big 4 or national accounting firm experience.
- Knowledge of SOX compliance and internal controls.
- Familiarity with both U.S. GAAP and IFRS.
- Experience in technology, consulting, engineering services, or professional services.
