nPMI Smarter Diego is a growing, full-service property management and real estate company serving homeowners associations (HOAs), residential rental properties, commercial properties, and real estate clients throughout Southern California. As part of one of the nation's largest property management franchise organizations, we are committed to providing exceptional financial management and customer service.
nWe are seeking an experienced Staff Accountant with at least 3 years of accounting experience, preferably in Homeowners Association (HOA) accounting and residential property management accounting.
nThis position is primarily responsible for HOA accounting, with additional responsibilities supporting our residential property management portfolio. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and capable of managing multiple association and residential accounts while working closely with our property managers and our third-party accounting team.
nBecause we are a growing company, we do not maintain a large in-house accounting department. This position plays a critical role in our daily accounting operations and serves as the liaison between our office and our third-party accounting firm.
nResponsibilities
nManage the accounting for a portfolio of Homeowners Associations (HOAs) and residential rental properties.
nPerform full-cycle accounting, including:
nAccounts Payable
nAccounts Receivable
nGeneral Ledger entries
nJournal entries
nBank reconciliations
nMonthly financial statement preparation
nMonth-end closing
nUpload, review, code, and process vendor invoices.
nCoordinate with our third-party accounting firm to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.
nPrepare monthly financial packages for HOA Boards of Directors and residential property owners.
nReconcile operating, reserve, and trust accounts.
nAssist with budgets, reserve funding, and annual audit preparation.
nEnsure compliance with company policies and industry accounting standards.
nSupport property managers, vendors, homeowners, and Board members with accounting-related inquiries.
nPerform additional accounting and administrative duties as assigned.
nQualifications
nAssociate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
nMinimum of 3 years of accounting experience, with preference given to candidates experienced in:
nHomeowners Association (HOA) accounting
nResidential property management accounting
nExperience using property management accounting software is highly preferred, including:
nCINC Systems (HOA Accounting)
nRentvine (Residential Property Management)
nQuickBooks
nCandidates without direct experience in CINC Systems or Rentvine are encouraged to apply if they possess strong accounting fundamentals and are willing to learn new software platforms quickly.
nStrong understanding of full-cycle accounting processes.
nExcellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
nStrong communication, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
nAbility to work independently while managing multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
nPreferred Candidate
nThe ideal candidate is a self-starter who enjoys working in a smaller, growing organization where they can make a meaningful impact. We are looking for someone who is comfortable taking ownership of accounting responsibilities, collaborating with our off-site accounting team, learning new technology, and helping us provide outstanding financial services to our HOA and residential property management clients.
nThis franchise is independently owned and operated. Your application will go directly to the local office and all hiring decisions will be made by the franchisee. All inquiries about employment should be made directly to the franchisee/franchise location and not to the corporate office of Property Management Inc.
