Overview
Zephyrus Engineering Limited is an innovative engineering solutions provider, committed to excellence in project execution and financial integrity. We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Remote Accountant to manage our financial records, reporting, and compliance. This role will play a critical part in supporting our financial health, ensuring accuracy and transparency as we grow.
Responsibilities
- Manage and oversee all financial records, transactions, and reports. Maintain accuracy and compliance in all financial documentation.
- Accounts Payable and Receivable: Process invoices, track payments, and manage accounts receivable and payable schedules to ensure timely settlements and collections.
- General Ledger Management: Prepare and post journal entries, reconcile general ledger accounts, and maintain accurate financial statements.
- Payroll Processing: Oversee payroll, ensuring timely and accurate payment to employees while complying with state and federal payroll regulations.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, providing insights on the company's financial performance. Support the finance team in forecasting and budgeting processes.
- Compliance and Audit Support: Ensure adherence to accounting standards, company policies, and legal regulations. Collaborate with external auditors for annual audits, preparing required documentation and responses.
- Tax Preparation Assistance: Support the preparation of tax documents and filings, working closely with external tax advisors and the internal finance team.
- Attend virtual team meetings and liaise with project managers to align financial reporting with project budgets and progress.
Requirements
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA or CMA certification is a plus.
- Experience: 3+ years of accounting experience, preferably in engineering, construction, or related industries.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, or similar ERP systems), along with Microsoft Excel and financial reporting tools.
- Knowledge of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles): Solid understanding of accounting principles and ability to apply these to financial reporting and compliance.
- Attention to Detail and Strong Analytical Skills: Capable of accurately managing large amounts of data and analyzing financial results to support informed decision-making.
- Effective Communication Skills: Ability to communicate financial data clearly and concisely with team members, project managers, and stakeholders.
- Self-Motivation and Reliability: Demonstrated ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and meet deadlines in a remote setting.
Preferred Qualifications
- CPA or CMA Certification
- Experience in Engineering, Construction, or Project-based Accounting: Familiarity with project-based accounting practices, cost-tracking, and budget management.
- Experience with Cloud-based Accounting Solutions: Proficiency in cloud-based accounting software and secure document management practices.
