Accountant
Extension is seeking an Accountant for an opportunity with one of our clients located in Milwaukee, WI. Looking for a way to put your accounting skills to work while supporting an organization that makes a difference in the community? This could be a great opportunity!

Key Objectives / Role Responsibilities
- Assist with monthly close activities, journal entries, and preparation of financial statements.
- Analyze balance sheet and profit & loss accounts and prepare departmental spending and grant reports.
- Process accounts payable, including invoice coding, voucher reviews, and payments.
- Support accounts receivable, billing, bank deposits, reconciliations, and invoice tracking.
- Maintain accurate financial records and assist with annual audits, compliance reviews, and general accounting projects.
Desired Skills & Qualifications
- 2+ years of accounting, bookkeeping, finance, auditing, or related experience.
- Basic Microsoft Excel skills and familiarity with accounting software.
- Strong attention to detail, organization, and analytical abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and handle confidential information.
- Accounting degree or related education is helpful but not required.
- Nonprofit, grant accounting, or audit experience is a plus.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Salary Information
- $35 - $38/hour
