The ideal candidate brings strong leadership, exceptional communication skills and the ability to partner closely with FP&A, Finance and Accounting teams to support general accounting functions and corporate tax reporting.How You’ll Make an Impact:General Accounting Responsibilities Intercompany AR/AP monthly reconciliationsSupport the general ledger and trial balance, ensuring accuracy, completeness and integrity of financial dataPerform journal entry preparation and postingEnsure proper classification and accounting treatment in accordance with IFRSSupport internal and external audits by preparing schedules, documentation, and analysis (JSOX, Hitachi, and EY auditing)Ensure compliance with internal controls and corporate accounting standardsReview and approve balance sheet account reconciliations and resolve variancesCoordinate financial close activities across multiple entity leads to meet reporting deadlinesTax Functions and Reporting Responsibilities Prepare month-end reconciliation of all general ledger balance sheet tax accounts. Oversee sales and use tax obligations across the North American entities and complete timely filingsAnnual Filings Business tax, Registrations and Good StandingAvalara maintenance – exemption, certificate& registration status Oversee property tax filings and compliance with local regulations.Maintain monthly accruals and yearly returns. (PPT and BPPT)Government Tax Reporting; Dept of Labor and Bureau Economic Activity Maintain relationship with Hitachi America Limited(HAL) and complete necessary tax supportCross Boarder Transaction – supporting Finance teams and HAL reportingMaintain VAT/GST/HST activitiesSupport quarterly, annual and ad hoc audits.
